"Esperance Remembered" Fun and Laughter was Had by All!

August 27, 2025

We’re so grateful to our guests, performers, and Willard Martin for helping bring "Esperance Remembered" to life! It was a wonderful afternoon — a full house, stories of our village’s history, and more than a few good laughs along the way.

The reader's theater play was held on August 23, 2025 at the "Old Stone" Presbyerian Church in Esperance, New York and was sponsored by the Esperance Historical Society and Museum.

Originally written by Dorothy Edwards in 1970 and currently refreshed by Willard Martin, Dorothy’s play was a 1970’s rehearsal of a play set in the 1930’s.  Willard’s new version was similar.  It was a present day rehearsal of the 1970’s play:  nine Esperance women get together to plan the annual harvest dinner.  They end up outlining a skit about the “old days” or mid 1800.

Thank you again to everyone who attended and helped make this event a success! We couldn't have done it without you!
