We will meet at the Esperance Museum Saturday, Oct. 10 at 12:00 PM for our annual Soup & Stroll historic tour. We will be traveling by bus to visit four different local cemeteries where Ken Jones, Esperance Historian will talk about the Revolutionary War veterans buried at the site.
You'll hear about a corporal who was captured in a frontier raid and escaped by lashing two empty brandy kegs into a raft and floating off into the dark. You'll learn about the man who ran the ferry that carried George Washington across the Delaware on Christmas night in 1776. And you'll meet a young officer who stood in the Boston crowd for the very first public reading of the Declaration of Independence.
Here's the best part. We're putting the whole group on a private motorcoach and taking you to all four! It's the kind of tour you'd expect to pay for, and we're bringing it to you for f-r-e-e.
We’ll finish the afternoon at the Methodist Church's Tiffany Hall with homemade soups and good conversation.
The tour is free, however reservations are required.
